How to Join the Club

To apply to the Club please click this link, download and print out the Proposal Form.

You need to find a proposer and seconder who have been members of the Club for over 2 years and have known you for at least 2 years. They fill in the designated pages with their recommendation. Please fill in the first page with your details, add a CV and a couple of paragraphs on why you would like to join. I am sorry but this is the only route to joining so you really need to know members and should have visited the Club a number of times as a guest of a member.

If you are applying as an overseas member you have to be a practicing visual artist i.e painter, sculptor, architect, photographer, designer etc and live abroad for the majority of the year. You also have to pop into the Club to meet a member of Council to sign off your form when in the UK. Once the form is received you will receive a letter of acknowledgement, a page will be opened in the appropriate book and it is up to you and your proposer and seconder to rally members that know you to sign the page to support your application. You should aim at over half a dozen signatures.

The majority of members elected are in the Ordinary category in that they practice the visual arts, we do take about 15% non artists in the Associate category and they are usually from related creative fields such as musicians, actors, gallerists, writers etc. Don’t worry if you are not sure which category you fall in for we will assign you to the correct category according to your proposal form.

Good luck and if you have any queries do contact the office.
